I looked at Foreflight this AM and the temp was 18 with a density altitude of -2604’
Coming to the reality that shorts are no longer an option sucks. Wearing pants is seriously overrated. This means that I need to get my airplane ready for the season as well. I flew the other day and the outside temp was 30. It made me realized that my survival gear needs to be changed to accommodate much colder conditions. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. Make sure you and your passenger(s) will be comfy if you need to stay someplace unexpected. I’m not excited about the soon to be frozen north, but there are some benefits to winter I guess..
Are you ready for winter?

I winterized the Maule yesterday (translate: I duct taped the windows shut and as many holes as I could find) in an attempt to keep the air inside warming at a greater rate than the cold air coming in. That's the extent of it so far. I'll put skis on it in another week or two and then I'll be ready for snow (please let it snow this year).
Time to start thinking about the warm stuff to put inside for that just-in-case moment.

Hmm... A different paint job really turned that into a new plane, or is that just what a 170 with WingX looks like?

I know a really good plastic surgeon and a hair stylist who is amazing with colors. The 170 looks pretty sweet with now doesn’t it?! Ha
That 185 is a friends that I got to fly a bunch. It fills the 5% void my 170 doesn’t do. You need to get yours on skis so I can ask to fly it.
Is this better?

I need a benefactor... even more so now, that snow caught me off guard and my plane still sits on what is now a ski strip.
