Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Red's Horse Ranch 6OR9 PIREP

With high pressure in the Northwest, the weather has been unusually outstanding for this time of year. I flew into Red's Horse Ranch (6OR9) on Sunday. Temps were around 25 F, and dead calm. The strip was in great shape, with no snow or standing water. The grass is short, but the frozen clumps made the rollout rougher than usual. Nothing significant, just noticeable. Jim Kelly, the opening and closing caretaker, was there, and gave us an enjoyable history lesson. There were a few elk camps at the south end, and the river is about half frozen. I didn't see any activity at Minam Lodge, which I assume is shut down for the year. The high pressure did make the landing approach to the south hazy, especially with the sun directly south.
