Re: Relieving yourself mid-flight

What a great thread! Personally, I gave up on in air attempts to drain the sump, and nowadays I figure the problem is best solved by flying low and having Bushwheels. that way I can just quickly land about anywhere and do it like man was meant to, standing up.

Especially for #2 I would find it inconceivable to try that midair, especially with pass. That would be down right nasty and rude  . Get it on the ground no matter what would be the game plan.

Good story Dog P, Fk'n hilarious.

Just empty them out or throw them away at the next pit stop. And not just for me...passengers are often the range limiting factor.

Gatorade bottles, For shure! in the cockpit and in the tent. Don't leave home with out one!
I got caught with only one of the little water bottles too, felt like I was going to pop, never again!

What about this? I wonder if there's enough vacuum for an astronaut milker? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blAojzXzMvs&list=PL19EBf0H4jInjApsVZhfV4KIcpqs19mFz

That tubing is a little too big for some of you guys.

Hahaha! Some great stories!

Another vote for Gatorade bottles! My bird's got short legs but sometimes the coffee and water catches up between refuel stops. It's easy in a flight suit as previously mentioned because you can open the zipper from the bottom, as well as from the top. Never tried in jeans, but it sounds like it's pretty tough!

Take a 2 liter soda bottle, cut the top off just below the neck, turn it upside down and duck tape it to the base like a funnel. easy to hit and wont spill. Some kitty litter in the bottom for good measure. A great spittoon as well. But i suggest you use it for one or the other, not both.

Re: Relieving yourself mid-flight

The previous owner of my aircraft was 78 years old when I bought the plane. Underneath the pilot's seat is some clear fuel line connected to the cap of an oil can that has the bottom cut off. The whole contraption makes a nice funnel. The line goes through the floor boards and has about a 4" tube sticking out of the bottom of the aircraft. I've never used it but the previous owner said it worked very well.
