Roller Rockers

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Roller Rockers

Is there anyone out there manufacturing roller rockers for Continental engines? Specifically I have an IO-470-F in a 1961 C-185.

I've heard no, but if you do find them please post the details.

I found this with a google search, give them a call and see what they have specifically.

The STC did / does exist;

Good luck finding a set. I would be interested in finding a set myself...

I *think* the AD on them killed the rollers... :cry: the poor valve geometry on these engines lends itself to rollers.

I took a set off of an IO520F that had about 500 hours on them and they were/are immaculate. Thanks to the AD, I can't use them on my certified aircraft. Maybe someday I can put them on something experimental. I sure feel safer now. #-o

Re: Roller Rockers

One thing to check on the used roller lifters you do find is whether they have been involved in a prop strike with engine stoppage. I have a Superior Air Parts XP-O-360 Plus which uses roller lifters. Regardless how good they look the manufacture recommends full replacement of the roller lifters after a strike that causes engine stoppage. They are treated like the Unison/Slick mags in that situation. Start over.

There is no reason I should know that. (Disclaimer)
