Runway Extension More Room for Activities

My elderly neighbor offered her ground to extend my runway. My runway is 900' from the fence to the corn right now. The extension will give me an additional 500' which will be useable for landing in one direction and taking off in another. In late summer early fall the corn displaces my threshold probably close to 100', not anymore :D
Looking east. There's a little gap to the left that has lower trees that I slip through.

The biggest draw back is the extra mowing. I made the extension a little more narrow to ease in the mowing chores

Everyone needs a neighbor like that. Take good care of her, and be nice.

I agree I'm blessed to have good neighbors. Mrs. Hoy's husband died a few years ago so we kinda look out for her. She lives back a long lane I go check on her and plow her out in the winter. Last fall she asked me if I would use the plane to look for her 14 year old jack russel. I didn't find the dog but at least she appreciates the airplane. The patterns at my house are anything but standard to avoid flying over houses (trying to be nice). It's the well meaning friends doing the buzz jobs that are hard on the neighbors
