Rustler Canyon UT #111 Pireps?

Has anyone been to Rustler Canyon, UT recently? According to Utah Back Country Pilots association this strip is in poor shape, but the last PIREP there was from May, 2013. I'm flying a 206 with 8.00 on the mains and a 6.00 on the nose.

I haven't been there in a couple years. The times I have been there it's been a little bumpy and really narrow, like as wide as the gear narrow.

I have a video of it somewhere. Let me find it and upload it. It's narrow, but not too bumpy. I also have a different perspective since my tires are 35's

What cam did you use to get the Maule footage Patrick? Something about the lens angle and color saturation really floats my boat...

(BTW: After watching those videos it is clear that Lindsey taught you everything you know. Just sayin...:) )

It would have been a gopro 2 on 1080 and 30 fps. That is its natural colors with no filters or anything done in post. What you see is original stuff never dropped in the editor. I doubt we had protune turned on for that btw.

Thanks. I was going to guess it was a GoPro as it has that feel. I really just need to break down and buy one already.

Right now I'm still in the planning stage. I'm thinking friends who live near by can meet me at the strip, then we could drive down into Indian Creek for climbing. I'll circle back with a PIREP if the trip happens. Thanks for the excellent videos and photos, they are much appreciated.

Re: Rustler Canyon UT #111 Pireps?

We landed there in my 205 in May of 2013 during the last Caveman. It was a little bumpy with a few soft spots, but a nice hard rock area to turn around on at the end. Plenty long and just wide enough. We had no problem getting in and out running on 8.00s as well. Please do give a pirep. This is a place I'd like to go back to and camp.
