SE California airstrips

this is for dav3469:

try New Cuyama maybe? It's out in the middle of nowhere NE of Santa Barbara. http://www.airnav.com/airport/L88

AirNav pages says "LOOSE ROCKS ON RUNWAY, CRACKED AND SPALLED SURFACE" so it might be a good "LA backcountry" destination. 8)

There's probably some better stuff out in San Bernardino County, maybe Indio.

This is an interesting page: http://www.airfields-freeman.com/CA/Airfields_CA_SanBernardino_SE.htm

Hope you're on broadband though, cuz it takes a while to load all the images.

New Cuyama is an interesting place. Ex Atlantic Richfield oil company airfield. No services, but a great steak can be had at the Buckhorn Saloon & Restaurant a quarter mile away from the field.
