Seaplane Stall-Spin into Connecticut House- VIDEO

News report says he was taking off when it happened. Looks like it impacted the house right side up. Pilot is alive, as per the report. Ugly shit.

Looked like a left spin to me, early stages and still oscillating, gear was still down, engine sounded like it was producing power. What kind of flying boat was that?

Looked like a Lake to me too. That cat used up eight lives on that one. Glad he survived.

Very lucky to have survived that, I bet the house absorbed a lot of energy.

Accident report says it was a "Freedom Master".

FAA registry says 2012 manufacture, IO-360 Lyc powered E-AB, built by the pilot.

Re: Seaplane Stall-Spin into Connecticut House- VIDEO

From what I could dig up on these plans people said they are tail heavy with a small tail section area and required quite a bit of speed to keep flying. Can't believe all parties came out alive

Too soon? But very funny. You had me grinning, would have been laughter-our-loud if I hadn't just seen that video.

Re: Seaplane Stall-Spin into Connecticut House- VIDEO

Hard to watch. The only reason I can see for the pilot surviving is the house had to have eased the impact. That is one rare club to be a member of; ...spinning a plane into the ground and surviving.

I am an old and grumpy flight instructor when I watch an airplane clear the obstacle by way too much altitude with way too much pitch attitude and I wonder Why.
