If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Gary,
That's where I found it. Another pilot I fly with said he's seen the strip but not landed. UBCP lists is as landable but no supporting data.

I haven't been in Utah much lately, may be time to do a little exploring. I looked to see when their info for the strip was last updated, but didn't see anything. I would be surprised if their rating are very current???, but, most stuff in that area doesn't usually change much/often.

It just seems odd that none of us have ever seen it before or landed there. Google Earth shows it as a pretty large multiple direction airstrip.

My friend Clark in Provo has been there recently. He sometimes frequents the forum here so maybe he can chime in. Ive been there on my motorcycle a few years ago and noted that it was in decent shape and reasonably long for practicing. When I ask the Elder UBCP's about it they say its fine but nothing interesting there so they don't frequent it.

More exact coordinates for those that want to look it up on google maps: 38°29'09.0"N 110°54'47.7"W

I haven't flown Southern Utah except once a few years ago. Factory Butte was our alternate if we couldn't get into Hidden Splendor. After spending the night at Hidden Splendor we flew down to Factory Butte to check it out. At that time the strip looked fine but there was nothing there so we didn't bother landing.

Whee,
A guy in a red, white and blue bearhawk (you might have met him last fall during stormy gorge times) and I fly together a lot. We have been thinking of sticking our noses into the Butte.
