Selkirk and other interior plastics

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Re: Selkirk and other interior plastics

This is the best one I can find right now. You see that I made the panels so they are recessed, to provide as much room as possible. The panel behind the door post goes behind/around the Atlee Dodge jump seat fittings.

Checkout Aerospace-industries on istagram, I'm not sure if they have a web site. They are developing carbon fiber interiors for Cessna's. I don't think they have the paperwork pushed through yet to sell them on the open market. I've personally seen some of the panels and they are beautiful. I would imagine light weight, very durable, and rather expensive.

It would be great if someone made lightweight carbon fiber seats. Like a lightweight rear bench seat that you could pop in and out easily.

Re: Selkirk and other interior plastics

I've probably mentioned this before, but a friend stripped the horsehair etc off his C180 bench seat and covered the bench & back with ceconite, a la the BAS jump seats. Lightweight and relatively comfortable, esp after he added a pad his wife whipped up.
Using hitchpins and clips to attach the backrest to the bench, instead of nuts and bolts, makes it easy to R&R the seat cuz you can do the 2 pieces separately.

Very interesting. Hope they get their papers soon. Seems there are not that many sources nor variety for interior options.
