Shooting cracks...in the ice

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Shooting cracks...in the ice

Not a fan of shooting cracks in the ice!

With the big storm barreling down on us tonight bringing an anticipated 4-6 feet of snow I spent yesterday flying around looking at the various water bodies in the backcountry and re-familuerizing (is that a word?) myself with the meadows and high smooth ridges for ski flying next week. Its that time so skis are going on today! Goodbye bushwheels (for now).

Check out these pics of the shooting cracks. The ice is close in some parts and not even kind of in others. Currently its 12F outside and should stay cold for the next week at least with the big storm. Ski flying will be on next week... =D>

Anyone else have their skis on yet? Tom?

Re: Shooting cracks...in the ice

I really enjoy winter flying pics. Awesome 8)

This is the time of year I always regret selling the skis I had for my Luscombe.

It's totally a word, you just used the French version. :P

Make (something) better known or more easily grasped

Cool pics, man. Yesterday was beautiful. I flew over Yosemite and Tahoe in a 737 and could see all the way to Fernley.

Got the fatties off and the hockey pucks on. READY.....but I think I may have pinched a tube when putting the wheels back together, or maybe the valve stem wasn't snugged down. Minor detail. READY! But, made 23 kwh with the wind turbine today, in other words it's been a tad breezy, but dam it I am READY.
