One of the things that prevented that was reaching for the flap lever handle.

Oh yeah, you will LOVE that new handle!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet here is the importance of having your HEAD in exactly the same place for every landing, and I don't mean mentally, although that helps. I mean you should have your seat in exactly the same notch every time, and at the same height if you have vertical adjustment. You should not have to make any head or body movements in the last 15 seconds of each approach. I will also do a little shrugging or wiggling on the downwind after a long flight to loosen up, but then on final, just relax and nail the airspeed.

There really is some Zen in this landing thing, although I must admit I don't really have the Zen of gusty crosswind landings down yet...I can do them, but I can't say I'm totally relaxed in the process.

Chet, does this mean you're up and running. I hope to get to AK Airman's show. Jeremy

I always carry a few tablets of Prozac to get me in that "Zen" mood for gusty crosswind landings!
