Shoutout to our military members on BCP

Thanks, Zane, for putting together this amazing network that we have here on BCP. Through this site, today I had a remarkable opportunity to see a truly fascinating side of military aviation close up and personal. I won't name names- that member can chime in if they want to be identified. Suffice to say that I got to experience something I never dreamed I would get to as a civilian, and I was also granted a privileged window on the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of our active duty military. My hat is off to all of you on BCP that serve, or have served our country.
Thank you.

Me thinks someone logged 1.0 of Day PI time in the 2B38 UH-60 Simulator. Probably flew it through the Alaska range to give some UH-60 guy a tour of his home turf. I also guess that DP took a tour of hangar 1 to see some of the Army's medium and heavy haulers. I heard through the grapevine that his host demonstrated a perfect auto onto Gaffney Road. Good to hear that you had fun.

Re: Shoutout to our military members on BCP

Glad you got to have a little fun! I am not a military pilot, but have 25+ years in so far and will be retiring this summer. My whole career I have wanted to become a military pilot but medical issues with my son from birth until about 7 years ago kept that from happening. Now he is a senior in College and out on his own doing great and I am going on my first year as a licensed private pilot with just over 200 hours in the logbook so life is good!

Older members of my NG Assault Helicopter Company had been able to take the Bird Dogs home between drills. That stopped when they traded them piston helicopters.
