Site down? Here's the story

BCP was down for a few hours today. The host had some problems with the firewall, and when that happens it defaults to the "safe"mode, which means no one gets in.

I know all you guys live for this booming website and were hanging on with clenched teeth when the site wouldn't work in the middle of a stormy sunday afternoon, so I figured I'd let ya know why.

BCP didn't die it just wasn't accessible from the internet.

The problem may occur again if the firewall is getting attacked, so if you stop by again and get no response from the server, wait a few hours and try again. I hope to have any problems resolved this week.

Thanks,
Zane

A few hours??? This is worse than waiting for Santa...

I vote that Zane needs to take care of maintenance around 2:00am pst when we don't need the site and always make sure that it is available during the day especially when we have a cold front and we're all grounded. I'd hate to have to ask for my money back.

Oh, that's right I didn't pay anything,,, hrmm, never mind...

BTW, still raining on this side of the hill as of 9:30pm pst. Hope jmtgt has plenty of fuel for that snow blower...

Had another nice 12 hr downtime... the host changed some firewall settings and changed our IP so hopefully we are for good again.

What a way to commemorate our 1-year anniversary! Blow this sucker up!

Never...this site is cheap to host and run, as long as I don't get too caught up in the maintenance. I tend to enjoy working on this free endeavor more than my real work, so I guess that runs my cost up since I could be billing clients instead of twiddling the knobs over here.

Weather here in Grants Pass is sucky. The creeks and rivers are roiling and raging, so all there is to do is play on the internet and polish on the airplane in the hangar. I've adjusted my shoulder harnesses prefectly, memorized the panel on this old bird, now I just want to fly!
