Ski/Snow Training

While getting my tailwheel endorsement last year in the J-3, I was lucky enough to do a snow lesson with wheels. Probably not more than 3-5 inches of fluffy stuff, but what an experience! Learned how to control descent to feel the tires through the snow so you dont stick and flip. Also learned how to taxi without overheating the engine, and how to turn without getting stuck. Very cool stuff.

This year I'm hoping to do some actual ski lessons. From what I hear, Andover (NJ) is one of the very few places to do ski training. If weather is right, he has a J-3 and a Top Cub on skis for lessons.

Re: Ski/Snow Training

We have lots of snow in Minnesota now and if anyone wants to give ski flying a try get in contact with Adventure Seaplanes & Skiplanes for flying a Taylorcraft or a Cubcrafters 180hp Top Cub on skis
