Skis, mission accomplished!

I put a total of 13.5 hrs on my skis since the install, and I am super happy with them! Many landing and takeoffs in all kinds of conditions: deep soft snow, hard icy snow, dirt and gravel, pavement, and combinations thereof. And except for 3 or4 times, all on slopes. I could have left them on for another 2 months and still found snow to play in, but I realized that when I had pulled the last of the winter duct tape off of my radiator and oil cooler, and came home from my last flight with more mud and sage brush bits on the skis then snow is was time to change over.

As much as I enjoyed the option of flicking a switch and going from skis to wheels, they are only 6:00 tires (max allowed), and I was looking forward to putting my 26" Airstreaks back on. The change over took 45 minutes including the tailwheel ski, not counting the time breaking down the wheels for the tire changover. I plan on making my annual switch to skis/6:00's be the time I rotate my Airstreaks. A close inspection showed no ski trauma whatsoever, and I worked them pretty hard, I see no problem with these holding up for the long run. These are the biggest shakeup in my thinking regarding absolutely needed flying equipment since I got my Airstreaks, I can no longer conceive of NOT having either, I'm hooked. :D

A few ski vids, prop flicker, horrible audio and all, there is no money left over at the present time for a different camera, it all went to the Airstreaks and skis :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYvKmm6ppTI

Nice having Airstreaks back on though!
A couple of typical Idaho backcountry landing sites, no campgrounds or mowed grass here, just cow flops and sage brush.
