I have an opportunity to buy a set Aero 3000 put I just bought a set of Federals 3500. The guy that had the 3500s bought the Aeros for his 170b with a 145hp but just sold it. I have a 170b with a 180hp, so ether ski would work. I know the Aeros are lighter, but the feds look hell for stout. This is a new department for me.

You won't go wrong with the Aero 3000 skis. They work fine, and are strong enough, unless you are braver than me by a bunch.

The big Federals are going to be heavy, and if you add plastic, you lose the tunnel bottom shape, which is one of the benefits of that ski design.

I'd stick with the Aeros.

So, what kind of work are you doing on your "privates" anyway???

Sounds like a personal question Mike.

I had a set of the Aero skis on a M7 maule that I operated on a 135, they were light weight and functioned flawless. used them for five seasons, lots of hours, no problems.
