Skywagon Cowl Flap controls
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with some pictures. I've decided I need to install cowl flaps on my Cyclone 185. I want to keep the plane as close to a clone C-185 as possible, so I want to copy Cessna's late model 180/185 controls (on the center tunnel, next to the trim wheel). I have acquired some of the parts (control cables, lever, some brackets, etc), but I haven't gotten a warm fuzzy on exactly where the push/pull controls are routed to stay clear of the flight control cables in the tunnel.
Anyone have pictures available they could send me of how the controls were installed by Cessna? Ideally would be some pics showing how the controls are routed in addition to where/how the bracket is mounted next to the trim wheel. Thanks.

Do you have the factory parts manual? What's missing from that illustration that you need?
I just put new McFarlane cables in my '76 185, but the lever is beside the glove compartment on my panel, no help to you. I kind of wish mine were on the tunnel and will be curious to see the replies you receive. I'll be mounting a hand pump down there somewhere this summer, so maybe mine are better off where they are.

I have the parts manual, service manual, and owners manual, but the drawings don't show a lot of detail and they only show the parts related to the specific drawing (cowl flap control drawing doesn't show any other parts so it's hard to determine how it avoids other cables, bulkheads, etc). I have a request in at skywagon city, so they are checking to see if they have an airframe that still has the controls installed.

If anyone is going to have used-but-usable parts, Peter at Skywagon City will probably have them.
