With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

The last two guys to let go almost got whacked by the tail! I wonder what the relative wind speed was on the deck of the ship.

I can't remember where I read about this, but there was an interview with the pilot. Apparently the relative wind was like 20-25kts headwind till about 15 ft off the deck. The front of the ship shielded the deck from the wind so when he got down lower he just basically dropped out of the sky. You can see it in the video, it's a pretty hard landing. Good job flying the airplane till it stopped.
He said it was pretty cool to do, but wouldn't do it again unless his life depended on it. Cool to see though!
