Snake River Airstrips Open?

Anyone got a PIREP for Lord Flat or Memaloose? I've got a spring bear tag for Snake Unit and looking for place to go. Was thinking Lord Flat but need to know if open or snowed in. Am planning to be there May 10-14.

Re: Snake River Airstrips Open?

M5,
We have a work party at Dug Bar this Saturday and if I don't go down there before then, I'll give you a pirep Saturday evening. It never did get much snow this winter so it will go fast if it's not gone now. Have a good hunt and save a couple for us as we'll be going in there just after you guys chasing those furry bruins.

Cheers,

Bill

Yes I hit pretty much all of them on sunday, the Big Bar strip has a little problem with the "Out house" as it has blown over and needs reset. I was tool less and couldn't have done much other then make more of a mess... I haven't gotten ahold of IAD but the posts need to be buried more then 8" to hold... the holes weeren't deep enuff.

Re: Snake River Airstrips Open?

M5,

Just got back from the Canyon and I flew over Lord Flat. No snow on the strip, a few patches back in the trees, this is very unusual for Lord Flat in April. The strip was a little damp on the north end and a few muddy looking spots further to the south. I didn't land, but it looked very doable and by the time you get there it should be in good shape, barring any new storms passing through. I'll look again on Saturday too.

Cheers,

Bill
