So Long 2007

Speaking of learning from others, did anyone determine what went wrong for Bert Snow?

Article on Berk

There was an article about the accident in Berk's home town newspaper in which his wife described the accident and her ordeal. If I recall correctly, what she said was: Berk told her he took the wrong route and then shortly thereafter he said "we are going to crash." His Cessna 172 impacted on the left side and Berk hit the door post. The article went on say that Berk lived about 12 hours but never regained consciousness. It is apparent that his plane was unable to outclimb the rising terrain. My guess is that he stalled it in an attempt to turn. The crash was at about 9,000 feet, several hundred feet below the ridge line.
A very sad and needless accident.
