I own a Husky and an 87 Mooney 201. No way would I take my Mooney into Soldier Bar

, though I've I've been there a number of times and know full well that I am capable of getting the Mooney in and out safely. I don't think it would do the plane much good as that isn't what the plane was designed for.
The Mooney has trailing link gear (good), and I've replaced the shock disks on mine as they age and get stiff over time. Still, the Mooney's gear travel is not long and the Mooney's wet wings can be an issue, being notorious for weeping and leaking if the sealant starts to fail - - which is exascerbated by rough use. That, and prop clearance is hardly what one would call excessive. I don't think Al Mooney had backcountry flying in mind when he designed the Mooney as a fast, effecient traveling machine.
The Husky is a whole 'nuther story.
