Great trip to Idaho last weekend.
Scenery was greener and pretty, no air traffic anywhere, and great temperatures.
Here is a landing and take off at Soldier Bar.

Nice!
I took off from there once, and while flying the canyon found my self eyeball to eyeball with an old mountain goat. It was like looking into a mirror. My first landing there, I didn't know about the rubber flaps they have embedded in the runway for erosion control, and had a bad moment thinking they were steel and had been put in to close the strip, and I had missed the notice

Seeing those rubber deals in the runway for erosion control reminds me of landing at
Cabin Creek. Nobody told me about them and I about had heart failure when I was about to land and figured there goes the tires but I have no choice.
