Does that gumbo cake around your boots to double their size after that skiff melts with the morning sun? Who cleans out the helicopter? Seems like an odd place to park, if given the choice.

Karmutzen: It wasn't as thick of mud as it looks when it rained prior to these pics. The ground never thawed after these pics, it stayed frozen until we left. Everyone cleans out the birds. And we were out there on a field exercise, shooting gunnery. That was the only place to park.

JDW: Sure is, do you go out there much?

Cool photos, but they don't mean much without some captions. Would be great to tell a story in the Trip Reports forum by providing a little background.

Been over it a few times, when you guys aint workin out there. Kinda leary about landing in a restricted area, especially if the strip's not on the sectional ?

Re: Some different off-airport work...

JDW, yeah, I wouldn't land in it without being a 'participating aircraft' either. Good call.

I've only been out there the one time (for a month straight.), other than that I've just flown over it.
