Sopwith Camel and Spitfire flying in formation


Looks like everybody was on some kind of drugs when they engineered this.
I laughed at the end when the New Zealand guy says the Spitfire was the most famous plane of WWII.

There is a good explanation of the full rotary engine of the Sopwith Camel and at
the end of the video is that beautiful sound of that V-12 RR Merlin engine.
Turn up the sound and make sure you go full screen - enjoy!

Yeah, as much fun as it is to think back on the "good old days" of aviation, and flying the older equipment... What a pain in the ass it must have been to manage those engines and systems.

Here's a video of a low pass by a spitfire. Turn your volume up and enjoy. I especially like the announcers reaction to the pass. :twisted:
