Southern Oregon Plane Missing

Guy is Grants Pass based. Super sad and the outcome isn't looking positive.

Re: Southern Oregon Plane Missing

Sad deal all around... I called gtpc as soon as I hear about it because I knew he was at the coast in the 182... I'm still at a loss on why they decided to fly a 172 from Brookings to GP at night of all times... Prayers to the families involved...

I see the search is called off already.

Sad to see.

I read they found pieces, charts, and a backpack, in the surf. Any hope for good news is grim to non-existent at that point. I'm sure the families would like to have the bodies retrieved but that's unlikely too.

This awakens memories of my own schoolmates, Dave and Nick, both 17 years old, who were killed at Calvert Peak in 1991.

Re: Southern Oregon Plane Missing

Brookings can be an absolute black hole departure. Especially using rwy 30 on a moonless night and turning left crosswind over the water. But, who knows at this point.
