Sportsman STOL on T206H?
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

I've heard conflicting opinions on the incremental value of a Sportsman STOL on the newer model 206s. Some said they help, and some say the difference is minute relative to the cost and that these newer wings already incorporate elements of the kit.....and that the kit is more useful in older models. One vendor told me they do add some additional STOL assistance to the stock 206H wing.
Looking for anyone with personal experience.
thx

The "new wing you're referrng to is actually pretty old.....been around since the F model 206 at least.
The arguement you are referring to is from folks who argue that the later model Cessna wings already are equipped with a cambered leading edge. And, if you were comparing that later wing lieading edge with the older Horton/Bush/Robertson leading edges, you'd be right....Cessna came pretty close to simulating those cuffs.
But, the Sportsman cuff is a much more aggressive cambered cuff, and adds significantly to the wing area.
Does the Sportsman cuff significantly improve the STOL characteristics of the newer wing Cessnas? Absolutely, yes it does. I've flown both late 185s and 206s with and without the Sportsman, and the difference is significant.
