Spraying Ranthane

Getting close to shooting paint. I’ve been fairly successful painting other planes with automotive paints. This time I settled in Ranthane because I had very good luck shooting it on some small but difficult pieces and thought the finish was fantastic. I do have supplied breathing air.
What I really haven’t been able to find is anything other than generic tip sizing info. A 14 is suggested for polyurethanes. If anyone has shot Ranthane on large areas before and is willing to share any specific info, I would be forever in your debt. Otherwise maybe just hope for me, that I don’t screw it up.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Spraying Ranthane

Steve Pierce over on the Shortwing site has more experience with Ranthane than anyone I know. I've shot some, but it was years ago...before all those solvent borne paints got me.
Glad to hear you have fresh air....just remember that the most dangerous time you'll ever be around that paint is when you're mixing it. The form of cyanide in the catalyst is a "free radical" at that point, and really looking hard for something to attach to, and you're mostly water, so you're the place it's going to want to go!!!
Good luck!
