Howdy All,

I'm a student at Texas A&M and I'm trying to put together a flying trip for myself in my Cub. I'd like to go somewhere off the beaten path, but I only have about 8 days to do it so it can't be too long. The trip will be the 3rd week of March.

Any of your ideas are greatly appreciated! I'm investigatin the possibility of a fly-in fishing trip but I don't know if that'll pan out since I don't want to get busted for landing on a beach I shouldn't.

I've never been, but I think others here have. Couple of days there from college station and a couple of days back in a Cub - should leave a couple in the middle for some fishing and camping???

There is a landing strip at Big Bend Ranch State Park (just west of Big Bend National Park).

It's 300,000 acres, it's off the beaten path, and you can fish the Rio Grande.

I second the Big Bend State Park Idea. I am going back 3rd weekend in March. Did the Presidents day weekend last month. Great time, beautiful place. There is a web sight.....

I have been to Gastons 10/12 times in the past 5 years. Fun, as well. Haven't been there in the cold. I go on the way to OSHKOSH, or in summer.
