Wow, that's so selfless of you.

She was on skies when Randy had her, something tells me I'll want to experience that as well at some point.

Haha some one is willing to make that sacrifice! I'm hoping to get on skis but being at Soldotna makes it tough with our low snow fall lately.

Re: SQ2'n around

Okay, runway building is complete. Here's a followup video BUT it has a couple of waterfall landings. Oh, and my friend with the Carbon Cub has a new toy on his plane, you'll see it near the end.

So you can land at the waterfall without the self appointed shoreline police showing up anymore?

Sorry Chip, missed your post earlier.

The self-appointed police will still come for a visit if they know you're there. I just fly well to the east and approach from the north. The think the guy knows he is wrong, otherwise he'd put logs and stuff where I land.

Re: SQ2'n around

Had to test the larger shocks from TK 1 Racing. Didn't really want to go flying, what with it being winter and all, but what's a fella to do?

Phil,

Are you using a tail wheel suspension, also? If so, How is it working out for you? I'm really curious of what you think of it and how it is performing. I'm close to ordering one for the Bearhawk so obviously interested in your opinion. My weights are higher at 1,500 lbs empty and 2,500 lbs gross.

Enjoyed the video. Hardly see any bobble with the nose after you touch down so that looks like a lot is being absorbed by your suspension. Looking good.

Killer video Phil. Love the soundtrack too. My wife straight up asked me if I was watching porn when I first started the video. We sure have been having some great flying weather.

Re: SQ2'n around

Mike, yes the TK 1 Suspension keeps the plane from bouncing back into the air, even dropping in. I've got Dan Dufault's new tail wheel suspension on the way, supposed to be here Tuesday. A direct bolt on replacement for the stock suspension. Dual nitrogen shocks. Should really enhance the tail.

Chip, you were watching porn. :-)

The WX sure has been fantastic!

I think the answer to your wife is yes.

Thanks for the info Phil. It would be good to hear how you like Dan's TW suspension after you try it out.

Blackrock, I think the weight of the BH tail will be a consideration for Dan's system. Those shocks are adjustable with air pressure but all the forces are a little amplified, though the 3200 and its clones don't really complain as much as the hardware holding them together and to the airframe. I will be curious to see how they hold up to side loads and stress-producing impacts. The spring rate is progressive on the shocks I believe but so is a leaf stack. I wonder how the curves compare.
