Steve Fossett story on Disc HD
A general forum for anything related to flying the backcountry. Please check first if your new topic fits better into a more specific forum before posting.
1 December, 10PM Easter 7PM Pacific Standard Time, Discovery HD will be airing a special on Steve Fossett. They used my blue and white Husky for part of the shoot, as it is "similar" to the plane Steve was flying. Roger "Onthegas", flew the photographer in his Husky, as camera ship, while we flew down the eastern flank of the Carson range.
Afterward, they interviewed me, as I helped out in the early days of the search and knew Steve. I got them to do that part with Minden's new soaring FBO in the background (soaring needs all the press it can get).

Yeah, but they messed up...
They didn't get video of me and Mr Scout on our four-wheelers up in the mountains south of Flying M, hollering, "Steve!!! Steve!!!"

Don't feel bad Gump, they didn't get the bears, and other animals doing their part, either.
