STEWARTS FABRIC COURSE

I am planning on hosting a fabric covering and finishing course. The system we will be using is the STEWARTS SYSTEM . I am sure there are many parts of this system that will be like most systems , so this may suit anyone wanting to learn or brush up on skills.
We need 10-12 people for the stewarts instructor to put it on. It will be 3 days , friday thru sunday. Likely the end of february 2015. Date has not been set yet until we can get the required number of people.
The cost is 375 dollars per student. This goes directly to the stewarts people . They will supply all the supplies needed by each person as well as the one on one attention . I did post this on supercubs.org and have recieved some good response. At this time we need about 3 more , so space is limited.
This will take place in las vegas , nevada. There are 2 large casino hotels next to our airport as well as the many others in the city. The FIESTA and the TEXAS STATION casinos .
For those interested i will have my JAVRON experimental supercub kit there with the new wing kit javron is producing. We will also have JAY DEROSSIER taking the course , and available to help us learn more about the building of supercubs.
I would like to have more things or people to educate and inform us of other related topics . We have the evenings open to any offers from others.
If interested i also have other lancair aircraft projects for everyone to see and discuss.
People attending so far are from all over the usa , including alaska , and one from canada.
For those interested we could arrange a visit to a local indoor gun range where you can shoot just about any rifle or pistol . I know the owners .
If interested , contact me direct at

Re: STEWARTS FABRIC COURSE

I've taken several courses through the years and never been quite satisfied. I've learned to patch a hole, install a grommet, rib stitch, and mix fluids. I've never seen anyone actually cover a fuselage for instance. That would be worth it.

What is planned?

It is 3 days , 10-12 people max. They will bring in the fixtures and materials for each person.
You will start at the beginning step and proceed thru all the steps up to final finish paint.

Sorry to revive a long dead thread, but:

Any chance of another one like this in the future? I am interested in a hands-on course with the Stewarts system...

You might give Stewarts a call. If there are classes going on somewhere they will probably know and if not they've been pretty accommodating in the past. I flew up there (Cashmere, WA) for a day and a half a few years ago and they put on a class for only a Canadian and myself. I left with an instructional CD course and all the supplies I needed to complete my project. Between the class, the CD's, the Stewarts phone number and youtube it was all systems go! Not too intimidating once you get into it a little.
