Stick with 530w or go to gnx375

Hi all,
Well in the continued evolution of my barely VFR J model she is getting ready to go to the shop for ads b. A year ago I bought a530w unit to go in the panel that currently has a 340 audio panel, a functioning king 155, and a Cessna xponder. Good buddy of mine says instead of sticking the 530 and gns 345 xponder in just put a gnx375 unit in, ram mount an iPad and be done for cheaper. Personally considering the space of a 182 radio rack I thought the 340,530,155,and 345 would look better in that tall space but the gnx375 unit is new and if I could sell my 530 for what I paid, 8500.00, I would come out cheaper with just the 375
Would like to hear what I might be overlooking or how some of you have recently gone..
Thanks

Re: Stick with 530w or go to gnx375

Just installed 375 but was not replacing an IFR GPS. 530 is proven, has big screen, and will likely have good support for awhile. The fact that the 530 still has such a high resale value and people are still installing indicates most in your position would not change. To me it makes sense that the transponder should be combined with navigation in the new ADSB era and we are all shifting toward RNAV. So far it is very nice and navigation through functions is intuitive. Entering complicated routes and clearances is much easier than with a dial. The screen is not huge but packs a great deal of data in a small space. A main value IMO however, is much newer technology. The high resale value of the 530 may make the change a little easier to swallow anyway. I am not ready to give up having an ILS altogether though.
