Stinson Dimensions?

Does anyone have the dimensions for a Stinson 108-1?
I bought a project back east and need to haul it on a flatbed trailer.
Need the width on the mains, outside and inside .
Thinking of putting the wings on the floor and straddling them with the mains.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

I don't, but sounds like a cool project! One day I want to learn the skills to rebuild/work on projects.

Are you on the Yahoo Stinson group? They just had a discussion about trucking a Stinson with discussion about what size truck and how/where to load the wings. You should be able to search there and find the info pretty quickly.

You can find the arm for the main gear and tailwheel on the TCDS. The reference datum line is the leading edge of the wing. The arm for the main gear is -1” and the arm for a Scott 3200 tailwheel is 219”. So 220 inches total, or 18ft 4 inches.

Just build a cradle for the aft fuselage to sit on. Probably easier then finding a longer trailer.

You can make it an inverted U or H shape,
with verticals at the outside edge of the trailer--
that way the wings will fit underneath.
