Here is the news story of the accident. Sounds like the Jeep was driving along side the Cessna when the wing clipped the Jeep which then veered into a tree killing the two Jeep occupants. The pilot and passenger were apparently unhurt.

They're so intent on the plane contacting the Jeep that it reads as though that alone killed the occupants of the car.
Looks more like a car crashing into a tree, following the airplane contact.
I don't think it oughta qualify as a "plane crash" like they're hyping it.
But, then... I wasn't there, and can't possibly be as knowledgeable about aviation accidents as the average reporter.

I thought that was kinda weird also, "plane crash" when it seems like it shoulda been "jeep crash". The only mention of the airplane aftermath is that they didn't take off, so ya don't know if it crashed or not. I wonder about the circumstances, it sure sounds like a Jackass-TV operation. It's sad that people died.
I'm surprised that there are more accidents/deaths from these "drive down the runway trying to pull the wheels down" maneuvers that I hear about every so often, when someone's gear won't come down. That seems like a real good way to get someone decapitated by a propeller, or at least get a car chopped up.

Hmmm let's see plane is taking off pilot is probably looking straight ahead. Pilot's wife is in passenger side of jeep taking pictures of pilot and plane. Driver of jeep should be looking at plane for guidance (as in formation rules) not looking where he should drives into wing over corrects and hit's tree?
