The name refers to repairing of gopher holes. It is a fly in and pot luck dinner.

I was planning on it, but .... Annual was this week and engine found to be making metal. Cylinder is going to come off to check the cam and followers, I'm sure it only gets more $$ from there :(

1963 182 with the O-470 R

I'm trying to look on the bright side, I was going to have to do it eventually. At least now I will have a fresh overhauled engine to play with. Maybe I'll make it for the Gaggle next year.

Great airplane and engine. I had the same, a 1963 F model with the R engine for 10 years and was very happy with it. The engine was high time when I bought it so after 4 years, I had it majored at Western Skyways. I still regret selling it before the replacement was built.
