NO HAND GUN BAND!

“we find they guarantee the individual right to possess and carry weaons in case of confrontation” — in other words, for self-defense. “The inherent right of self-defense has been central to the Second Amendment right,” it added.

Be prepared for the news media blitz of "deadly shootings". I am surprised by this ruling, now we just have to keep it.

With the irony of Congress just gutting the 4th amendment.

Life is good. Life is better with wings.

I think five of the nine Justices made a good, solid judgement of the intent of the Second Amendment. I applaud their willingness to take on a very difficult case in this day and time.

I am looking forward to reading more about their reasoning.

I agree with you. I read most of the the 64 page opinion and some of the language used surprised me as it was pretty strong for jurists to use with one another. In one spot, Justice Stevens was told he was "dead wrong" In another spot, an analogy or expression apparently looked at by another jurist was called "grotesque" In any event, it was a landmark decision and a good day. The majority stated what we NRA members have been stating for years....it's an individual right!!!!
