Alright, so this is old...but still an update from the last time I was posting project status here... and it helps me remember where I left off as I find time and motivation again.
The left wing took a bunch of damage. I've replaced lots of ribs and fixed some other damage. Since I have the Demer tips and you can't get those parts anymore, had to fabricate new ones (with the help of a fellow Stinson friend who was doing the same) and got that all put back together.

Had a fiberglass guy repair the tips for me. Will need to match drill these before I forget and get to far along on the wing finishing.

I also wanted to make the existing doors into observer doors. Before and after...still need to drill holes and cut the windows, but I'll do that after I strip, clean, prime and paint.

Goodbye Grimes position lights and GE 4509 landing/taxi lights (and lots of cash) and hello Whelen LED lights and strobes!

I find I always need more clecos!!! Yay for new boot cowls. And made out of sturdier 0.032 at that!

I live about an hour from Univair...so I get lots of new things from them.

Kind of like this NOS panel overlay. Mine was okay, but it had tons of extra holes in it that I don't need and I like the original clean look. I rearranged the instruments. I got to remove some since I yanked the vacuum system. I went to Univair and Jason let me go in back and dig through the stack of panels to pick the one I wanted. This is brand new, never used, still original paint. A couple of paint chips on it from being stacked up and moved around all these years, but you can hardly tell. I love getting parts from Earl too, but there is a bonus being able to rummage through the parts at Univair. I have a UBG-16 to go in the empty hole on the bottom.

Which brings me to the last time I worked on her, 29 Dec 2016. Got the tip riveted on the vertical stab and then installed the stab. Visible progress! Temp installed the rudder, mostly to get it off the ground. It'll have to come off so I can do the fabric patching and painting. Got some wiring ran to for the new LED position and strobe lights. I've since discovered some alignment issues with the rudder and pulled it back off. I also found that one of my issues is alignment of the tip on the vertical stab, so I'll need to remove it, and since it's swiss cheesed from trying to match it to the stab, I'll get another one from Univair and try this over again to make it look really nice and aligned fully.
