Tail wheel endorsement.. Check. Tail wheel insurance.. Check

Just finished my tail wheel endorsement and man was it fun. Really did not expect to be so addicted. We did it in 3 days and 7 hours. On the second day we got a solid 80 degree 10 gusting 15 and got to practice 3 points with a cross wind. we flew a new citabria with the metal spars.. Great plane. All and all it was a amazing time and I can't get over the feeling of earning that take off and landing. When you have a smooth one it really feels good.

Also, got insurance on the kitfox for only $ 1100 annually today as long as I have 15 dual in make model. Thought that was pretty good given only 7 hours tail wheel. Used eaa and insured for 30 k. Even switched the 182 insurance over and an paying only $ 550 annually, 38k value, 0 deductible. Again, amazing rates compared to my agent at aopa.
Anyway, thanks for listening. Tail wheels are a blast. Can't wait to keep learning.

The little wheel in the back means the fun lasts even after you stop flying!

Bought my 140 this past march and with 0/0 got it insurad for about the same. Also managed the signoff in 10 hours per the insurance, at present have over 65hours in it and am trying for 130 before it becomes time to renew next year to see a lower cost. It has been fantastic to own my aircraft and have been to a lot of new airports and activitys, just returned from a fly-in movie in North Adams Mass 2 weeks ago was a really fun experience... Best of luck and enjoy.

Another item well worth checking is "Kitfox Pilot's Guide". $21.95, page 7.

When I bought my C150/150TD, I shopped insurance & ended up with AOPA's quote being the lowest. I don't specifically remember talking to EAA but I probably did. Even so, it's worth another look next year. I'm assuming that it's a members-only deal (I'm not, currently)-- do they have an insurance-brokering department like AOPA, or do they have a discount arrangement for their members with an agency?
FWIW, with a lot of tailwheel hours my AOPA coverage started out at $891 with zero time-in-type & is now down to $783, for $36K hull full coverage.
