Good job by the pilot if it wasn't fuel starvation that caused the lots of power. That salt water has to create a major restoration problem though. Have any salt water ditchings led to affordable repair. With corrosion problems caused by the salt water, I'd imagine all new wiring, new fabric, rebuilt engine and maybe even blasting the chrome Molly tubing back to bare metal and repainting. Buying a replacement plane sounds cheaper.

I wonder if the Cessna Skymaster ditched in Hawaii a couple years ago was repaired or totaled. Anyone know?
