TFR Issued for Boulder Area...

Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

Re: TFR Issued for Boulder Area...

Got over to GXY today to check on things--all OK, and it was busy there, too.

Marilyn mentioned today as one of the bigger NG copters went over that she's glad we don't live in a country where the sounds of helicopters and distant gunfire are daily events. I agree, but I'll bet there are a good many people very thankful to hear those noisy things right now.

Was that the airport manager? The relayed posts on the KLMO facebook page do have a bit of a screeching tone. ;-)

I was able to access my hangar at KBDU. The police and the feds were very gracious and accommodating - in spite of the fact the airport was obviously closed. FEMA officials came and apologised for taking over the field while I was getting tools out of my hangar.

I was very impressed with the operation.

My sons school still had a river running through it today. The town of Lyons won't be habitable for more than a month. I'm not sure about Jamestown - most of it washed out the ass-end of left hand creek as far as I can tell.

Crazy days....

Oh, and cubscout - fantastic idea about the letter to the editor... I'm going to do just that.

No, not at all. Tim isnt that kind of guy at all. This was a random hangar rat, taking on his self-appointed, delusional role of Uh Thor Eye Tay. These events seem to bring out the very best in many, and merely the deeply embarrassing in others. I was too busy feeling lucky to see the airport in working condition, visiting folks, and admiring the thousands of crayfish and largemouth bass spread out and swimming in the shallow waters flowing over the roadway to care about him.

I look forward to seeing my friends and their families from up the devastated canyons soon...and big props to all those who help them and everyone else be safe.

More heavy rain and flooding today. You folks up north hang in there.

Best wishes and good luck to all of you up there. Protect your families and animals first, homes second, and you can clean up hangars and rebuild airplanes later when Mother Nature calms back down.
