You know one of the things on my to do list is to visit Normandy Beaches where the invasion took place. I've read so many books and seen so many History channel programs of it I am looking forward to going there. I know it will be a humbling experience. Jean has been there with her sisters one year and I know it was for her. To think over 10,000 men died on those beaches to advance the cause of freedom and defeat Hitler is truly a humbling thought. It is a debt we can truly never repay. It saddens me to think that so many of todays youth and young folks don't give it a second thought or even know of the significance of the day. Nor do they even relate to the fact that their freedom to be ignorant and self centered is a direct result of the deaths and sacrifice of those brave soldiers on that fateful day and through the rest of ww 2. Here's a grateful salute to all you WW 2 veterans whether part of the d day invasion or not. There are those of us who will never forget and will honor you always....Thanks!
