Just last night I got an email from IAA that said that on the new (2017) state aviation map that the Big Creek Four are listed as emergency use only. Does that listing on the state map make it official? Is this new compared to previous years? If so, I guess I bought my plane and learned to fly it too late Oh well, I'm probably too old to be doing those anyway although they were nice to think about.
Sad day, We camp at Mile high and its not that hard. We fly into Cabin Creek and drop off gear to play in the backcountry. Vines is an awesome beautiful strip. Dewey is uphill and a dream of a strip. These backcountry strips are what we think of when we fly 11 hours to get there. I hope they change it before June!!!
