Navigator...late for the flight... as usual...

his owner was on time...as usual.

After a short stop in Ohio to deal with the itch that you just can't scratch from where we sat, Mo-town appeared in the distance.

Approach at Metro, let us run up toward Windsor for some photos.

a quick look at the "Rennaisance"

Coleman Young (KDET) is underutilized and the gas was $6, but the folks at AvFlight could not have been nicer. They shuttled us downtown and picked us up at 6:30 AM sharp the next morning ...all with smiles. The auto show was nice...no crowds and we were back in the air before dawn the next day.

...a slight "pucker factor" as we pointed it out over Lake Erie direct to Baltimore thinking how warm our life vests would keep us.

but Cleveland and Youngstown soon fell behind...beneath crossing traffic

the power plants for Pittsburgh (off our right wing)

and the Pymatuning Reservoir

all lay along our route.
No bush tires or tail wheels, but Detroit to Baltimore in about 2 hrs...a nice way to roll...22 hrs blocks to blocks...

...and a nice way to greet a winter's day.
