This is how you wish Happy Holidays in aviation ;-)

two nights ago it snowed in the Sacramento Mountains in southern New Mexico. Time to get the Gopro mounted to my Bearhawk and take some footage. New Mexico sometimes really can be enchanted!
Here is the result. I hope you enjoy and I wish all of you an Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays and a wonderful happy New Year.

Thanks! That was great. It is refreshing to hear something besides pop music. The Moldau was perfect. How often do you get snow like that down there?

Nice Georg!

It looked like you were going to land at the water tank for a moment or so!

Great video and thank you for sharing.

From the video perspective, added to the naturally long snout of a BearHawk, it looks like a Pilatis Porter.

Wow. What incredibly beautiful and remote country to fly in. Definitely want to be prepared if one was to "go down" around there.

I believe Georg's cowling actually is longer than most Bearhawks because of something he needed to make room for between the firewall and the engine. Or maybe off the front. Georg?

Re: This is how you wish Happy Holidays in aviation ;-)

Yes, the nose is longer than normal! About 4 inches. I have an open air scoop to get a little bit RAM air / MP during normal flight. It gives about 0.6" more MP. That open scoop is of course nothing for dusty backcountry strips so I added an airfilter and a valve under the cowling. I can open or close that valve from the cockpit. On dirtstrips i close the valve and the air is being sucked through the filter!
