That was pretty interesting. I always see pilots tie the tail down on nose draggers, and it always seemed to me that it would be better to tie the nose down, thus keeping the wing at a minimum angle of attack. That video seemed to prove that. The plane did not even budge until the tail dropped, increasing the angle of attack, then up, up, and away.

My 63 P172D has a tie down under the engine. behind the nose gear strut. I've never used it, but maybe I should! :)
