Hey Everyone,

Is anyone running 6x800 tire on Fluidyne 3200 Wheel Skis??
I am just wondering if I should go with that tire or go with a 6x700 and what ply would you recommend. Not going to be doing much off strip landings with the wheels, mainly pavement.

Not sure on the fluidynes, but my on my federals, 700x6 is the biggest I can run.

The limiting factor on the maximum size of tire you can run on these wheel skis is the length of the rigger arm. The ski cams over, using the rigger arm as a fulcrum, and the tire lies on top of the ski.

I've run these skis with longer rigger arms with 8.00 x 6.00 tires and with 8.50 x 6.00 tires, but these were modified skis. If you have an 8.00 x 6.00 tire laying around, mount it up, and install it, and with that side jacked up or the plane on a lift, see if the ski will cam over and if the tire lays on top of the ski. You may be able to tell if it'll work just by holding an 8.00 x 6.00 tire alongside the main tire with the ski cammed over.

I suspect if you have stock skis, you'll need to run 7.00 x 6.00. That's what I ran on the 3200s on my 180.

FWIW I've never seen tires officially identified as 6x600 or 6x700,
or as 7.00x6.00, 8.00x6.00, or 8.50x6.00.
I believe they are properly labelled 600x6, 700x6, 800x6, or 850x6-- sometimes with a dash instead of an x.

Actually, since you want to be precise, they are properly listed thus: 6.00 - 6. Or 6.00 x 6

Now, perhaps we can get back to the gents question.....

Hey Mike, were those longer rigger arms available from purchase from the manufacturer? I'd sure like to get some so I can run 8.50s.

Most of the ones I've seen for the smaller skis were modified. Probably don't ask don't tell.

That said, the old Federal AWB 2500 A skis came with a longer arm and could run 8.50 tires. So, I suppose Fuidyne may have done the same.

I have purchased new 7.00-6 tires for the 3200's I have the stock rigger arms, would be nice to get a bigger tire on but all in all these tires will do just fine for me, This will be my first time for wheel ski flying lol

Are these AWB 3200s? If so, you can run bigger tires with them within limits. But, the tires may protrude below the ski bottom, when in the ski position. The down side there is that tire sticking down creating a LOT of drag in snow.
