Neat video!!!! Used to go through Inkom years ago and never thought much about it but it looks like a fun place.

Thanks for cleaning up those repetive posts Zane, even this is BTW, as I had already posted a link to the video on my ski flying thread, unbeknownst to Jonas I guess. I

No worries, I cleaned it all up and embedded the Youtube player, moved to Ski Flying forum.

Sweet vid. We all love Tom around here. Been lusting over those Datums since he first got them years ago.

Tom, Jonas did a good job of capturing your place. What Gorgeous back country. Can see why you see no need to go farther north to the Alaska’s.
Like the one way to your place, Looks like you better have your approach and commitment resolved by the time the wheels touchdown. Don’t seem like there’s no more going back in the air from there.

Flyrite: indeed, but after 12+ years at this piece of ground plus another 20 + years at my first location a mile away (same length strip,400', but a bit steeper) it's second nature. I do not like to come in mid afternoon on a thermally summer day, or with much of a tailwind, but if I am forced to, I just aim for the lowest part of the strip instead of the last upper 100' like usual, that seems to work. It's all a compromise but worth it to fly from home.

Just watched the second video, that was better than the first... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycv2GDm2DOo

Just a story from my Alaska days in the Wrangells to go along with it. I was on straight skis so not totally stupid. I was looking at a spot on Mt Saint Elias at 13,500 feet to land. I was sure I could do it but Paul Claus came on the radio and asked where I was and I told him what I was looking at. He said don't do it. He said at that altitude and that late in the day with no oxygen if something goes wrong I will be dead before the Pave hawk helicopter can get to me for rescue in the morning. Good to have a voice of experience and reason.
