Travel Air 6000 Take off

I was going though my camera found some video I took at the Polson fly-in last year of a very rare Travel Air 6000.

If I make Polson this year I'll see if I can interview the pilot(s)/owner(?) about it.

That's Hank Galpin. He and his partner rebuilt that airplane from boxes of parts several years ago. Hank flies it to, and hops rides in it, at many of the Montana fly ins. At a fly in, he's pretty much going full time, carrying people up for an experience of an old time airplane.

And, Hank is a great guy as well. His partner in the plane passed a while back, but Hank is still going strong.

Looks a lot like the one Jim Larkin used to fly.
Can't see the tail # - but same paint scheme.
Will try to link to his Widow Bev.
Deal with her almost daily on F.B.

edit PS: That one or another is supposed to be at Big Creek event real soon.

It is better to be late in this world, than early in the next.

This one was rebuilt by Hank and his partner. The paint scheme is the original scheme they all came in.
