Trippin in Ohio

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Trippin in Ohio

So, I met some new friends "officially" this Saturday. They picked me up (I10) and I gave them the aerial tour of my backyard in the morning, (although they were very familiar with it already), we flew across the river to KPKB, landed in the grass and ate some lunch. After that, we hit some more local grass strips and we all parted ways. It was by far the best day of flying that I've had to date. Thanks to those who made it possible.

Pioneered a new one. It was "trippy" to say the least. Uphill landing, the ridge that is there to work with is about 30 feet wide once you get up there.

I scouted it Friday. Painted a big orange dot on the ground to spot it from the air and built a makeshift windsock. Used what I had with me, a tree I cut and stuck in the ground and some pink ribbon left in my truck from a recent pipeline survey.

On the way back to Noble County we flew over the Big Muskie Bucket. At one time it was the largest dragline in the country. Seen it from the ground, it was cool to see from the air.

Thanks guys for takin this wannabe to the "bush." Had a great time, and made an even bigger junkie out of one already. Now I gotta get this license thing out of the way and get me an airplane!!! I can't wait.

I'm working on the videos that I took. Once I got the whole web album thing figured out, making this post was easy. But getting that, editing, and resizing figured out took me the longest.

Thanks Zane. As if I wasn't hooked before this officially did me in. The trip reports are one of my favorite things on this site. ya, I think you might know them. Strange. :D

Evan - your instructor is not going to like the fact that you met us?? Nice pictures though and let's do it again.

If I want to get any tailwheel time I'm gonna have to probably buy an airplane and then have him get a checkride in it to instruct me!! Haha. The options for tailwheel training are looking kind of limited. But I am hopeful. Thanks again John.
